@swagmeout,
Yes. Google "parse a sentence" and the first hit will be your page. Here's the link;

@MontereyJack,
Given just how shitty many/most grammar teachers are, MJ, it's completely fair.

We diagrammed at least a gazillion sentences for Sister Julie Phillip during high school both in English and in Latin. I had her for both classes.

I always hated it, but I did learn to write a cogent sentence.

And you think that parsing sentences helped you do that, Joe, learn to write a cogent sentence?

As I've mentioned to Pom many a time, you [and every other child] knew how to parse a sentence by the time you were five years old. You just didn't know the artificial names given to the parts of speech, but you sure as hell already knew the parts of speech.

I never learned any formal parsing. I still don't know what a lot of that stuff is called.

@Roberta,
Well, them as can; do. Them as can't; teach. Them others is called consultants.

A consultant, by the way, is someone that borrows your watch, tells you what time it is, and sends you a bill.

Again, I digress.

Swag - google: Reed-Kellogg diagram sentences.

I think it's interesting to see the function of words within sentences. Biggest problem for foreigners is that we often write the way we speak and that gets confusing for someone trying to study English.
