A clerk for the Food Shop convenience store in Conway, S.C.
was walking to his vehicle after closing the store, when a criminal
wearing a mask and latex gloves approached him with a gun and
demanded money. Having been suspicious of a nearby car as he left
the store, the clerk had a gun ready when the robber approached.
The clerk shot the criminal several times, killing him and ending the robbery.
The person driving the suspicious car, who had been the robber’s
getaway driver and lookout, fled the scene following the shooting,
but was captured by police a short time later. Police have indicated
that the clerk will not face charges. (SCNow, Grand Strand, S.C.
