...and when they say "check here if you received this email in error, we will remove your address from our list"....they continue to send you email anyway!

Colorbook- NEVER respond to one of those ads. The spammers are attempting to find out if your E Mail address is active, so that they can send you more crap! Mad

Hey Deb, you can disable the requests if you like. If you're using Outlook Express, click Tools > Options > Receipts > Never send a receipt.
