piano keeping time

i read the music as i play,does that mean i m keeping time?

Not necessarily. All that doing that means is that you're reading the music notation and following what is written. It doesn't mean that you're performing what was written. However, if you use a metronome and are playing in synch with that, then you'd be keeping time.
