I've been supporting (the last 4 years) the Libertarian party = liberty = freedom = lots less government. They will abolish the income tax, and replace it with nothing, if we elect enough Libertarians. The national sales tax is escpecally scary (poor and lower middle class) as a replacement for the income tax. The details are hard to discover, but it appears typical households and individuals near the poverty level will pay ten or more times as much sales tax as they presently pay in income tax. As partal relief, any household or individul who has even a tiny amount of income will get several hundred dollar checks (monthly) from the USA treasury, unless they are a dollar over the poverty level, then they get no checks at all. Apparently many persons just below the poverty level will have to file the 1040 long form to prove they are just under the poverty level and they will owe IRS all the money plus penalties if a much later audit determines that they were just above the poverty level. Talk about government in your face. Neil
