You were probably channeling me. I've been going through my household stuff trying to part with various items - and one of them is an old postcard photo of Sarah Bernhardt, ink signed Paris Mai-4-1904 H.B.P.
It was part of a batch of postcards all sent by the same person from Europe to someone in the US in '04 or thereabouts, having postmarks and messages by this sender with gorgeous penmanship. (Her full name is on the card address side). I'm guessing it was an aunt or grandmother sending cards to a young man in the family.
Still can't part with it.
