Those who long for peace must prepare for war

No great dependence should be put on the eagerness of young soldiers for action. Because the prospect of fighting is only agreeable to those who are strangers to it.

People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men are willing to do violence in their behalf.

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men live
