In my role I use a formualted spreadsheet, I know the boiler fuel price paid (nett per kwh) and the operating times of the boiler, the boiler efficiency percentage.
I have for example a 30 metre length of 168 pipe, running (ext. temp.) at 165 degrees (24/7) there is no insulation on this pipe. My cleint is calculating this is losing 79.8118272 kw (cost per kwh £0.02) translates into £15157.61, yet my figures are about £3700 or thereabouts, I need to understand how this could occur?

@snoopysdad,
Your customer is losing 78.8118272 kw (love the number of significant digits here) *
8760 hr/year * £0.02/kw.hr = £13,800. The difference between that number and the 15,200 you reported is probably in the precision of your 0.02 cost number. There is probably another digit the company is using. So how did you get £3700?
