I went and looked just after that post.

FYI, he goes by the last name Baron Cohen, not Cohen.

I always spelled him "Barren", but you're right and I was wrong. Thanks for the correction!

I would say he's an "international" figure, albeit a pretty obscure one for Americans. He got some attention from his puzzle challenge, but to the extent that he achieves "idiot" status here, it's due to his skepticism concerning climate change claims.

I didn't know until now that he was having a row with the House of Lords, but his persona is one that many Americans consider the stereo-type for an English lord.

I bet a lot of Americans think of Marty Feldman when they see Lord Monckton
