Put this on and its disappeared??? so will try again.
Needing 3 to finish please,
42d. Box-shaped solid - ?e?ahedron - is it Decahedron or Hexahedron??
106d. Secrets known by a few - Ar?a?a
167d. Southerly - ?u?t?a? - is it "Busters" - if so it makes my answer to 194a wrong _ I've got Leave for Permission.
Thanks
Sweda
arcana, austral. Probably hexahedron (six-sided, like a cube)
@sweda,
106d is ARCANA
167d is AUSTRAL
dunno about that 42d. It's tough when you don't have the puzzle in front of you.
@MontereyJack,
Hi, Jack. We posted simultaneously. Great minds and all...
Thanks everyone for the answers. As Dutchy knows I find the Stinker and Demon difficult to do so I was pleased to get down to 3 before needing help.
Monteray Jack - I haven't been able to get the Dictionary you recommended but got one called Edwin Faint's Complete Crossword Dictionary - cost $70.00 here and its very good. Still doesn't have all the answers but a great help
Thanks again,
Sweda
wasn't me that recommended it, but on behalf of whoever it was, good, glad you got something that helps
@sweda,
Hi sweda
I have the Ultimate Crossword Dictionary by Edwin Faint, same cost.
Find it very good but think no one dictionary has all the answers.
Christine sometimes has this as a prize but buying it is quicker!!
All the best
@jacaranda,
Hi Sweda & jacaranda
I have the Collins "Million Word Crossword Dictionary" by Stanley Newman & Daniel Stark, available from Readers Digest. Cost $50.00
Thanks for the information re Dictionaries. Dutchy, I also have the one you mentioned but am finding the E.Faint one better for lots of things as its based on Crosswords. Takes me ages to go through my collection at times. Jacaranda, I also have the Bradford one that is ofter given out as a prize but don't think it is as good as the other 2 mentioned. (My opinion only)
Sorry to be so late back with a reply to all.
Thanks
Sweda
