Well, more or less. When I was a kid, there was no freeway there, just Sepulveda Blvd. There were poinsettia (the name back then) fields at Sepulveda and Wilshire. I have a photo in my mind. I'm pretty old, but not all that decrepit. Apparently no one else remembers this stuff.
I watch all this with interest. I've grown more interested re transportation in general since those early days.
I'm mixed on the outcome of this - it will all will go well, or it won't.
Someone said, build it and they will come, so I have some pause about all this.
@ossobuco,
Sepulveda! I remember that. Drove it often.
@sozobe,
I loved Sepulveda even fairly late in the game, but, as would be obvious if you know me, I didn't breathe in the tunnel. I never breathe in tunnels or only extremely slowly. But that was relatively short.
@ossobuco,
I should give a link, as I saw a sharp graphic thing about how they'll take down the bridge (in a way I hadn't guessed).
If I mess up, this is either from LATimes or SFgate.. I think.
@ossobuco,
Well, I failed to save my link and other yadda stuff washes over it.
It was very good on delineating what the whole process would entail.
Ok, this is useful, and may be what I first studied -
@ossobuco,
In the meantime, LA was fine in '84.
@raprap,
Hey, a boyfriend used to pedal from Reseda to west LA to see me., we were young. That is not easy. This whole thing is funny to me, although not quite, given complications.
