John, once again we show how many and diversified are the meanings of one simple word. Jesse Stuart wrote a wonderful book called The Thread that Runs so True--all about a teacher.

What prompts you to post a thread? Your Banned in 2004 was excellent.

ah, John. I think most of us here know you. You're our mane man. Smile

Well, posting to a variety of categories keeps us on our toes. I just read through many of the science and math categories trying to learn something. Can one teach an old cat "knew" tricks?

dys, I find that difficult to accept. You may feign arrogance, but I see a different person who is looking for a parrot.

Would you be able to accept arrogance as my explanation, because trust me, I am. Laughing

I live alone, except for my dog Maddy, who doesn't give a fig about the news. When I read or hear an interesting news item, I like to discuss it with someone. There being no one immediately available, I may post the item on A2K to share it with others.

centroles, you're about as arrogant as that sleeping sharpe. Laughing

ceili, I think many of us do as you do.

Hey, Wilso. Get some smart people to discuss a complicated subject? Well, I wasn't there. Very Happy

Hello there, Gautam. Just for the heck of it, huh. The heck you say.<smile>

cerealkiller, curiosity is one of the biggest factors in writing to elicit, I think.

bbb, I also have seen you post some lovely poetry, so it's not just the news. Come on. Fess up. Razz

Funnily enuff, I can usually find the answer to questions I have fairly rapidly - one of the perks of the job. However, I still do like to 'bump craniums' and sound out other points of view and give out some sort of practical advice if I think it's called for.

But, I will insist in going for the cheap laugh (with illustration) far too quickly.

Hmmmm. Mr. Stillwater runs deep.

That rabbit's gettin to be a habit, so hie thee to a nunnery, hare.

They're fighting like a march hare over in the nave of the religious category. In one corner, the fighting Irish. In the other, the Jersey bouncer. Rolling Eyes

In Noah's ark, the honky's the target. A simple grrrrrrrr wouldn't even begin to cause a stir.
