Hydrangea reaction?

I trimmed and/or shaped about 75 hydrangeas yesterday. I got lightly poked near the eyelid once by one of the dead branches, but thought nothing of it.

Today, that Eyelid is very swollen and my arm, near the wrist , is also swollen , somewhat hard, and itchy where I had rolled up my sleeves

Have you ever heard of such a reaction? It is not getting worse, so I'm not going to worry about it, but I have never heard of this before.

I can't trace it back to anything else I did but I did take out 2 old yucca plants in my own yard yesterday, too. But that was done with a shovel.

I wear gloves at all times in the garden. My hands are OK.
