I need some great Paino playing. Just paino. Names of songs. Thanks.
Do you mean piano? I'm partial to some of the works of David Lanz. His song Madrona is a really beautiful piece. A lot of the classics are still very nice to play and the sheet music is usually free on the Internet.
Wha'd I say--Ray Charles
Rhapsody in Blue- I like Bernsteins version
At The Blue Note-Keith jarret
Goldberg Variations-E Power Biggs on the harpsichord
yeah funny lol (enter saracasim at will)
PIANO. All happy now? Some never are.
Thanks for the PIANO pieces mentioned.
I would edit it but then all the "funny" would be gone.
Glenn Gould has also recorded The Goldberg Variations--on the piano. Worth a listen!
may i recomend:
Bill Evans-Alone (Again) & Conversations With Myself
Thelonious Monk-Solo Monk
BlueMonkey, a lot of good suggestions here....what sort of difficulty level are you looking for?
Anything that sounds good and I apreciate everything thus far. Thanks.
You should check out ELP's first album, especially the track 'Just Take a Pebble.'
Brubeck.... lots and lots of Brubeck
Chrissakes, forgot about Brubeck .
Also Cyrus Chestnut
Art Tatum
Fats Waller
Lennie Tristano
Here's a link to some unknown pieces. They have midi files to go along with the sheet music in pdf format. Some of these sound pretty good.

- Anything with Bill Evans
- Beethovens Piano Sonatas
- Craig Armstrong
- Keith Jarrett on 'La Scala'. Solo jazz piano. One of my favorite recordings.
- Herbie Hancock
- John Medeski from Medeski Martin Wood played piano on their album 'Notes from the Underground'. He's got an interesting style.
- Sarah McLachlan plays a bit of piano.
- Tori Amos
- 'The Pyramid Song' by Radiohead is a great piano song.
- So is the live version of 'Like Spinning Plates' by Raidohead.
- Sigur Ros has some nice piano work as well.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now.
Joshua Rifkin's recordings of Scott Joplin's rags.
