I use webroot antivirus, i scan a couple times a day and i keep getting only one result a trojan/TdlMbr-A that i cant remove, because at the end of each scan the virus changes its own status to "deleted" and i so i cant tell webroot to delete it? I know this is the case because everyscan its back, detected in like the first 20 seconds

@jabarimark55,
Reboot your computer into Safe Mode and try it again.

If it is a web-based anti-virus program you'll probably need a stand-alone software that doesn't need access to the internet in order to function.

@Butrflynet,
then you can first update your antivirus and try it again. if it does not work then replace or change your anti virus .

@jabarimark55,
If you google the name of the trojan you'll find probably find solutions. It's worked for me in the past anyway.

@MonaLeeza,
I'm not a computer expert by any means, Mona, but wouldn't a trojan hide its name as part of its attempts to remain effective?

The AV gives you an identity for the trojan (as stated in the original post) which you can google to find a method of removal.

@dadpad,
Thanks, DP. Likely, these viruses, trojans and the like are identifiable, like medical viruses, by their print.

Where do the names originate? Is it the first Norton, McAfee, ... geek that discovers it?
