What is your favorite book? For me, Terry Pratchett's "Small Gods". If you haven't read it, go read the reviews on Amazon.com RIGHT NOW.
I be hard pressed to pick a terry prachett book alone. The man is brilliant. It's almost time for me to reread the whole series.
I wouldn't say Small Gods is my favorite book of all time, but Terry Pratchett is definitely one of my favorite authors.
My favorite book is "Im Westen nichts neues" by E. M. Remarque. It's a story about the first world war and describes the feeling of a soldier.
Terry Pratchett is right up there in favourite light reading,
Very very favourite is Dorothy Dunnet Game of Kings etc a brilliant writer, drama, humour. tragedy. accurate political intriguing. a fast paced adventure with rich characters - it has got everything!
Possibly "The Children of Dynmouth" by William Trevor, featuring the immortal Timothy Gedge, a young man with a strange agenda...
Fahrenheit 451 by Bradbury
I can't say I have one favorite, but there are some that I "hold close to my heart". Farenheit 451, Lavengro, How Green Was My Valley, Foundation Trilogy, to name a few.
Actually, I have 2 favorites...
"Whitney,My Love" by Judith McNaught
and
"I Love Capri" by Belinda Jones
I'm with Maya that there are too many to list...
But right now The End of the Affair by Graham Greene is at the top of the list
Ender's Game.
The alpha and omega of post-asimov science fiction.
Maybe Songmaster coming in a close second. Both books by Scifi mogul Orson Scott Card, the most talented scifi/fantasy author alive today (my totally unbiased and fair opinion, of course)
