Barry White just uttered those words on ABC news. and it's soooo true.
Music is what you wrap around it:
my baby don't care for shows
my baby don't care for clothes
my baby just cares for me
my baby don't care for cars and races
my baby don't care for high tone places
Elizabeth Taylor is not his style
and even Ricky Martin's smile
is something he can't see
my baby don't care who knows it
my baby just cares for me
I wonder what's wrong with baby
my baby just cares for
he just says his prayers for
my baby just cares
for me
Happy New Year to my friends on A2K
Happy New Year, Lettie. Keep plugging on your writing and hold your dominion.
You must have caught that on one of the tributes to the entertainers' that died this year, I guess. I caught one on TCM last nite. Of course, there was no Barry White, he was never in movies, but we lost many major players this year, Bob Hope, Kate Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Gregory Hines...
Gotta play some Barry White tonight.
eoe, Noddy, Yes, it was the year in review type thing, but I loved the phrase.."It's What You Wrap around it..."
Often, when I post a thread here, it's totally spontaneous triggered by a word or song.
Happy New Year, Letty.
Keep on wrapping things in song for us. It's always a wonderful treat.
Wrap yer arms aroun' me
Like a circle 'round the sun
You know i love ya mama
When my easy rhyme's done
Ya don't believe i love ya
Look at the fool i been
You don't believe i love ya
Look at the hole that i'm in
Stealin' . . .
Stealin' . . .
Pretty mama don't tell on me
Well i'm stealin' back to my same ol' used ta be . . .
And a happy new year to you, Letty!
Keep singin' those songs!
To all of you here:
maybe it's much to early in the game,
Ah, but I thought I'd ask you just the same.
What are you doing New Year's
New Year's eve.
Wonder whose arms will hold you good and tight,
Just when the clock strikes twelve o'clock at night.
Welcoming in the New Year,
New Year's eve.
(bridge)
Maybe I'm crazy to suppose,
I'd be the one, dear, that you chose,
Out of the thousands,
Of invitations,
You receive.
Ah, but I thought I'd take one little chance,
Here comes the jackpot question in advance.
What are you doing New Year's
New Year's eve.
