@ibourgeois,
I can't tell if you are asking if any of us can identify flowers (that's a yes, at least sometimes). You also might be asking how to post a photo.

@ossobuco,
I'm interested in seeing the picture but I'm being lazy to explain how to post it..

@Francis,
I know there are instructions on the site somewhere that you can cut and paste, but I can't find them. Butterfly usually comes to the rescue.

@Francis,
On where the plant is from, microclimates/regions matter as a help for identifying, at least in researching. I once could give the latin names of a couple of thousand plants (those were the days! memory does fizzle..) but they were all from the western coast of the U.S., though I knew a scattering from other areas, and some of those plants grew readily elsewhere, or may have been native to elsewhere, like Australia and South Africa.

How to post a photo has been told here a zillion times - I'll go look up a post or two on it, in case that is the basic question.

@Green Witch,
Ok, I'm gonna try:

In order to post a picture here, it needs to be online already.

If it's the case:

- Right click on the pic, click on properties, copy the URL.

- On A2K, click on Reply, paste the Url.

-Highlight the Url, click on Img on the top of the reply area.

- Click on Preview

- If you see the pic you can click on Reply.

If the picture is not online, you need to upload it to a site like ImageShack, Photobucket or similar, then copy the Url and follow the procedure..

@ossobuco,
I like identifying stuff just for the sake of it.

Too many details spoil the game..

@Francis,
Good photo advice, nods.

I see your point on the game of identifying..

Which reminds me, I still don't know about that portrait in the name that painting thread.

If you think about the hints I gave, you should be able to find the painting..

@Francis,
Hi Francis,
I have no idea where the picture was taken and the picture is saved on my computer but I did post the same question on this website that I was able to upload the picture. Here is the URL but I'm not sure if you will be able to have a look at it. http://www.photographyboard.net/ibourgeois/blog/
Let me know if you can view it.
Thanks for the replies
Isabelle

@ibourgeois,
I don't know it offhand, but will look around.
I'll also ask where the photo is taken. It looks like they are part of a design of a coastal property, so they may or may not be locally native.

It looks like a plant from the geranium/pelargonium family.

@dadpad,
Thanks for the information on how to post a picture and yes it does look like geraniums.... I was looking in that category but I didn't seem to find the actual flower.... I wish to find a better picture of those so I can paint them.

That's ok. There's another thread on this site called "where am I?" or something like that... I'm sure someone will figure out the location. Then we just need to deduce whether it's a native flower or not.

@ibourgeois,
I think more like a pelargonium flower, although hard to tell if those are individual petals or a trumpet shape flower.
Try searching for
cranesbill.
pelargonium
?.....or possibly even hollyhock
