Can't install sony Cyber-shot camera

The reason In't install this is that I don't have the installation disc. I got a message from Sony that my HP Slimline 5000 with Windows 7 has this software already installed. I can't find it, though I've tried Control Panel where such things should show up. I tried Programs, but no joy there either.

Can anyone help?

@Tomkitten,
Did it give a file name? Did you use the file search feature to look for it? If so, did you have it search your entire hard drive and not just the current directory?

@Tomkitten,
Have you tried connecting the camera?

When you connect a device, Windows should search for the correct software and run it.

@parados,
Windows will search for the correct drivers when you connect the device.
If this camera operates like mine...
once you have some photos on your camera connect it to the PC via a usb port.
on the view screen of your camera it will give you options like
connect to pc
print
Choose connect to pc
follow the prompts on screen

If no prompts appear
right click the start button for windows
selct drive E (or whichever drive your camera appears as)
open the files until you find the one with your photos on.
highlite and copy your photos.
open a new folder
paste the pictures into your new folder.
chooose save as name yopur file and save your photos

@dadpad,
OK, i'll try simply connecting the camera. Maybe I don't need anything else - just add a device may work. If so, I'll let you know and close out this thread. But it will all have to wait till morning when my new furry friend (Fig, a tortoiseshell shelter cat, 16 months old) comes in at 5 a.m. to scream that I'd better get up NOW because I'm starving her (she weighs 10 1/2 lb).
