@JGoldman10,
I'm certain that people respect your interest in languages and appreciate your honest intent.

My friend, language doesn't matter. What counts is how earnestly you say, "Do you wash your pants with Windex? Because I can see myself in them."

@Gargamel,
The girl would probably going to slap me in the face if I said that.

@JGoldman10,
You're sure that's her dialect?

@George,
I would get a negative response to that sentence in any language. I'm not going to get fresh with that woman.

No, no, no. I'm talking about:
"I might say something like, Ni hao, Ni hao ma? Wo hen ho?"

@George,
I don't but I know most Chinese people speak and understand Mandarin.

If language is a problem I'll just use English.

@JGoldman10,
So let's understand the motivation here: if in the first place you spoke to her in English, YOU'D know that she undetrstood you and how well. But you figured that you could flatter her so that she'd be interested in you if you spoke to her in SOME dialect of Chinese? What happens after you speak that one phrase that you know is exhausted. It's not like you can sustain speaking to her in her native language. Any woman, Chinese or not, can see the shallowness behind that.

@Ragman,
well that certainly makes fools of world leaders that try that trick

i rely upon my ever so natural charm and ask polite questions of others in conversation, i might even smile

doubt i'd get away with that ploy though

@Ragman,
I'm into learning Chinese anyway. Discussing language seems to be a good icebreaker.

@Ragman,
Speaking to a Chinese woman in Chinese is showing her that I'm not ignorant of her culture.

@JGoldman10,
Being sincere is the #1 way to make friends I can think of. This is something that is lost on politicians and some folks who are of that ilk.

@Ragman,
SIGH-I have never been with a woman. If I knew the answers to my questions I wouldn't ask them.

I'm not going to go up to a woman I don't know and embarass myself.

@JGoldman10,
Let me see? Seeing that nothing I wrote here is even remotely interpretable as racist, I'll assume you and reality have parted ways.

Sincerely, I truly mean this constructively: please consider either taking your prescribed meds or getting mental health counseling.
