Technology is a beneficial and necessary element in society. But along with it, it has caused a lessened demand of local businesses (such as music stores, newspaper printing companies, etc; due to the internet), job loss (people being replaced by machines in certain careers), harming our environment because of the toxins released, subtly causing mental and physical defects in individuals (increased ADD problems, decreasing quality of social skills, encouraged laziness, lack of mind-stimulating activities participated in, dependency, people becoming less self-sufficient, etc).
I'm doing a paper on this particular topic, and I would just like some suggestions on more negative outcomes, and reasons you have behind them please? It would be most appreciated. There's only so much google can give.
I don't have any links for you, but I know someone that deals with children and their problems. Television (and computer 'viewing') is effecting brain wiring during human development (children less 3 yrs), seems to be reducing IQ. Lack of occupation based hand use is degrading previous noted total body coordination skills and particularly the ability to learn to write cursively. High hormonal content corn based foods and pseudo-estrogens from plastics are reducing the 'maleness' of boys, measured by the distance of the base of the penis to the anus in newborns. This measurement has been decreasing steadily since the 1960s.
@mulout,
Thank you so much, that gave me several ideas to work upon. This helped me a lot, I appreciate it!
@aze1526,
Virtually anything can be seen as having negative impacts. Even a sunny day can give you a sunburn.
You should be able to come up with an endless list of negatives if you try.
@aze1526,
Comment about harming the environment cities was once cover with the smoke of coal fires and before that whole large areas of woods was cut down for fire wood and before that.........
Human waste was once dump into cities streets and long standing cities was on top of large hill created by the trash of generations before.
The more technology the more harm to the environment does not follow in any simple manner.
