Oh no, littlek caught the humbug that I ran off. It doesn't eat much, that's something good.

Well, I did a 180 when I found out my niece and nephews were coming here for Xmas, so what you need is some happy news. It takes more than hype, lights and presents, you need something about the season that really gives you something to look forward to. I know things like that can't be fabricated, so I'll just hope it happens for you.

Why do you think you did the 180? Did you peak too soon?

Actually, I keep getting good news. I'm happy for it, but it makes me feel more single, less successful, etc than ever.

Yikes! You just hit on some of my feelings, it's not going to bring me down, prolly because I don't mind being alone for the most part.

I'm not usually depressed about being alone. Well, except for this time of year. But not always this time of year. For some reason this xmas seems very tedious.

I certainly understand. Hmmmmm.....we must come up with a cure for this, it just isn't right having you all down in the dumps.

I was worried when everybody started getting holiday avatars so soon. Darn it, I was just about to grab mine, still holly-bedecked from last year.

What happened littlek? Did you have a bad store experience? Burn some cookies? Bad news? Do you need a (((Hug)))?

Here's some Christmas cheer....

Oh, I just read ahead (god, I'm slow)... you say you're feeling single and unsuccessful? .... But k, everybody thinks you're special. We really do. (Don't you trust our judgement?)

Y'know, approximately a gazillion years ago when I was turning 35, I was not exactly thrilled. Don't worry. The feeling will go away, but that cheer will help to chase it out the door.

Woke up in a real nasty funk. Did not want to go to work and have to listen to the Christmas pop pablum dribbling out of the radio, and out of the co-workers...

And I knew that my appointed task for the day would put me right next to th' damn radio.

Pre-emptive strike! Brought in some real Christmas music (defined as being written before the 20th century, and performed as such), and popped it on the CD player early enough that the radio hadn't even been thought of.

Best damn thing I've done all week. Everyone was pleasant and I was productive, rather than resentful.

'k, if your really blue, give me a call.

Thanks SP. I'm not in a major depression or anything. Good thinking about the radio.

I fell yesterday, too - prolly just finally getting to holidays (though i have to go in and do enough paperwork on Tuesday to make it safe to go on hols!) you know what is is like - they glimmer and scintillate way in front of you - months ahead - you crawl through the burning desert, believing you will never get there, people flag and fall apart around you - now you are crawling on your belly - inch by inch - you can see the water, the delicious date plams, the blue nimbus of water vapour - hear the chuckle of the water fall - you get there - the dates are a little old, the pool a little scummy - in fact, it is life, sans work. BUT - as the days wear on, you unstress, life feels good again!
