This poll is soooooo biased . . . there is no seven . . . what's up with that? I'll tell you what, seven is just too damned liberal for ya, you won't even admit seven exists . . .
I vote seven.
Well, 9 is really my favorite number, I won 699 dollars at bingo once with 9....do you think I should play again? Or just beginners luck...I am a recovering Catholic...you would think I had played more bingo...oh well..
Recovering Catholic, eh?
Is there a support group for your family?
Unfortunately mom was barren (and she being Irish was very disappointing to the family) My brother still goes but he is a #@#hole...wait this isn't tell gus's thread...damn i have more to work on than i think...

Oh, you mean as in, US of A, number one, Mexico, number 2, Canada, number three?
pffffffffffft to the nihmster!
3 is the perfectly balanced number - therefore it is perfectly canajun.
i could pretend i was a holy roller and do a rant about the holy trinity, but no. 3 cups of tea, 3 speculaas cookies - it's all perfect.

Yeah, what's up with that? I would have picked 7 if it were there.
I like the idea of the poll, especially its title, "Poll", but would have preferred if there'd been less specificity. To wit: Why not a poll with no numbers? It could have a series of slots for choices but no other identification. The slots could be arranged in a circle, equally spaced, and then rotated periodically, just to be fair.
Wouldn't those results be interesting? You bet!
taking a quick run to pick up a new poll for D'Art.
Oh nooooo, we can't lose this thread!!!!!!
Noooo!

Save this thread! Save this thread! Save this thread! Save this thread! Save this thread!
<gets nudged and whispered something in ear>
Oh - someone's already doing that. Ok. Well. Jolly good!
What I wanna know is when we get to cast our second vote.
<arrriving to vote with the other voters for keeping the vote>
Predictably, 3 has taken the lead as the most popular number. I fully expected that as it is a well-known fact to all numerologists that 3 is the most popular number in the Western hemisphere. This is especially true if one is given only five choices. Thus, I, of course, did not vote for 3 on the assumption that it would win the race without my help. In the absence of 7, I chose 1 for the same reason you other onenies did. Numero Uno, c'est moi.
(Anybody who dares to lock this thread will have Gustav's capybaras to reckon with. You have been warned.)
I am terribly concerned that the poll is not developing a regular bell curve configuration. Obviously there are some important variables that have not been considered. I believe that we need to look into this further.
I did choose three, Merry, and I was the very first, the very first, to do so, I was, in fact the leader, as it were.
Yes, but then eh-Beth almost threw the whole thing into a cocked hat by insisting (loudly) that 3 is a Canajun number. This might have skewed the anticipated bell-curve more than anything, Phoenix, because now all non-Canadians are kind of gun-shy about picking a number which has been clearly identified with a particular geographical location. As a result, the spread between the 1s, 2s, 4s and 5s becomes truly random and, thus, uneven.
But I quite agree -- we should investigate this some more.
Do you think 2 has gotten least votes of all because there's a disproportionate share of singles on this board, and they'd rather not be reminded? <eg>
