I am running 98SE, IE6, OE, Zone Alarm, EZ AV updated daily. I recently installed Spybot which revealed entries in the registry related to phone diallers and ad ware. I have a cable connection and my computer is almost always on. I do not use a proxy and my IP adress is static and visible. Am I still at risk of a trojan entering and residing without being detected. I am considering installing TDS , is it necessary?

Thanks Craven. I downloaded spybot on the basis of your references. So if not necessay, is it advisable?

I personally would not do that. With a properly configured firewall and AV program you should be covered. Some would advise overkill but that can cause problems as well.
