How to eliminate love towards a woman? Is there a good book that can help?

I am not sure that you should eliminate love towards anyone! Life is tuff and you are the only one who has the answers to your problems!

Hate what people may do but do not hate people, is the only advice that I can offer.
Keep in mind that you can always be wrong and try to make it a habit to always be humble in your actions, maybe someone will view you the same way when they are fed up with you. Habits may be contagious so watch out.

The ancients thought of love as a form of mental illness. You'll get over it.

How to build emotional connection with a woman?

Spend some time with her sooner or later there will be some type of emotional connection built, it may be a good or bad emotion but soon enough you will get a emotional conection or disconnection that you may or may not understand! Oh by the way all women are crazy and I am sure that they think the same of us at times.

Do you speak of a woman (lover) who has left you, so you want to stop loving her?

Don't do that. We all have to experience loss and sadness. Feelings of love for someone is not a negative thing!

Making emotional connections with a woman? I would think: either it's there, or not. You can't just turn your/someone else's feelings on-and-off like this.

The best way to forget a woman: go out with another one!

Your confused as to the meaning of the word love.
A true definition of the term will not contradict the definition of man. In fact, if one really seeks to preserve the notion of identity, one can define no good of man which contradicts the very definition of man.
You seek to modify emotion, emotion in of itself is not love.
One thing you must learn about emotion, it really is not directed at anything at all, in order to construct something of it, is the responsibility of reason.
For example, as Plato pointed out, when you get thirsty, is is not thirst for any particular thing, it is the function of reason to direct it to make it into a thirst for something specific.

So too about love. You don't try to remove the emotion, but make something of it that does achicve what it is meant to which means that it is reason that directs it toward or away from any particular person.

When you can do this, you can start a love affair with someone who is good for you, and the emotion will follow--baring your rational ability.
