It was written by a Russian named Zamyatin and inspired Huxley (although he subsequently denied the inspiration), Orwell, Vonnegut and LeGuin.

Zamyatin was an early Bolshevik who was exiled several times. Trained as an engineer, he became a political satirist.

Would like to hear from people who've read We.
