Okay, so... when I was younger I read some extracts from these two books that I just cannot remember the titles or authors of anymore!
I only vaguely remember what happened in them, but still I hope some of you might remember them from it. I would really appreciate some help! Smile

Book 1:
This guy pays to go back in time, in order to shoot a dinosaur. This company makes sure that the only dinosaurs that get shot are the ones who would have died shortly anyways, and they have carefully marked paths where they can walk with strict orders to not go or touch anything else - all to make sure they don't accidently end up changing the future.
Anyhow, something happens (I don't remember what) and this guy steps out on the ground next to the path. The guides get upset and they all hurry back to their own time. He doesn’t understand why they're making such a fuss about him stepping on dirt, but when they come back the future is changed - the writing on the posters in the office looks like something a 5 year old would have written. He then checks under his shoe and sees that he's stepped on a butterfly.

Book 2:
A bunch of kids are, for some reason, on an alien planet where they are being kept hostage by the inhabitants of said planet. These aliens look a lot like humans, only they are taller and they float instead of walking. They are using the humans as experiments, because they are much more intelligent than them and see the kids as some kind of pets. Only one of these alien girls takes a liking to them and when she follows them to the place they're going to sleep, she talks with one of the boys and we discover that these aliens can't FEEL anything - physically or emotionally.

Any ideas? Razz

@AnnaHans,
The first one is, The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Sound_of_Thunder

No clue about the other one.
