Are the views and opinions of this forum too unbalanced?

I've only popped in and out of here for maybe a week or two, but I didn't get the impression that there was only one kind of ideology being pushed on people.

With one exception, though, I've stayed away from the political threads, so maybe I don't know what's really going on?

Myself, I'm neither Liberal, Conservative, Libertarian, Communist, Socialist, or whatever.

My husband used to say that I was a Radical, but that was before I left him........I don't know what he called me after that. Probably a Bitch, hahaha!

Anyway, except for that it's too sloooooow, this really is a cool forum and I like being here.

katya8- What do you mean by A2K being too "slow"? Are you referring to the verbiage, or the speed of loading pages?

If there are more liberals here it's because birds of a feather....etc.

Go over to Abuzz and you'll see the flip side.

We can't advertise and recruit conservative can we?

Perhaps a cyberspace mandatory bussing program. After all, it's been so successful in the schools.... Rolling Eyes Laughing

I wouldn't mind seeing an occasional thread everynow and then praising bush and defending his actions.[/quote]

I'm sure Bush himself would like to see that.

Wish in one hand **** in the other.......

I have never been a huge fan of politics so I don't know all the left-wing, conservative, yada yada terminology and what they all mean. Guess I never labelled myself one or the other. I have opinions on some things that I hear about but I don't actively pursue political issues.

I do think Mr. President is a doofus but there is one thing I applaud him for and that is waging war on Afghanistan and I'm not dreadfully opposed to the war in Iraq either. I think it's time the U.S. stopped being a whipping boy for the rest of the world who bitches and moans about us and then grabs money and supplies from us and demands more and more like they have a right to it. If the truth be known it pissed me off that America attacked Afghanistan AND dropped food at the same time. Yeah yeah, I know there are innocents there too but it seems we can't decide whether to **** or get off the pot. A firmer stance needed to be made and that is why war was a valid answer. Time is gone for pussy-footing around, doing "talks" and bartering and bargaining for a world that will never care for Americans because they feel outdone or abused by us (and I don't doubt a some of that could be valid or true). Sometimes you just have to get into the ring and punch that sucker who keeps tap tapping at you and giving you a constantly bloody nose. What are we supposed to do? Stand there and take it and say "thank you, now how many billions can I 'loan' you (and never get paid back) and how many food crates do you need?"

I'm not saying that we shouldn't help our poorer friends .... OMG I'm rabbitting on like it's a political forum !!!! Somebody help me!

That was a pretty good ramble, Heever. I had forgotten about the food drops. I liked them. I also liked the playing cards. I mean.......printing the wanted enemy on a deck of cards must be a wartime first, no?

Phoenix........no I don't think that posters here are slow, silly, I think they're very interesting, otherwise I wouldn't be here.............but the pages use forever to load.

"Extreme liberals"? Not sure what that means. Back when I was young, the New Left in this country derided liberals as being wishy-washy. Hubert Humphrey was humiliated for being the ultimate liberal back then.

It shows how far the worm has turned that the term "liberal" now represents as far left as some folks can imagine in this country.

Liberal meant mainstream in my vocabulary, back when Roosevelt's philosophy was still in vogue. It took a depression and a world war to make Americans see they need each other like that. Now we have drifted back to Hoover's time and I wonder what will befall us before people become aware to allow social development again. Probably never again in my own lifetime. I hope the people are wise enough to hold onto their power next time they get it.

I think of myself as an american liberal (as opposed to one in another country where the label liberal might mean somewhat to the right), and I view myself on the left side of liberal. I have some views that people would call socialist, and some understanding if not agreement with people to the left of that at the same time I have a few conservative takes on things. I see this view of myself as horrendously skewed; in comparison to the spectrum in other places, I would be viewed as way too middling.

There are definitely too many relativists and postmodernists on this forum.

I've stopped trying to define conservative and liberal though. I've bumped into American "conservatives" that I thought were liberal, and some European "liberals" who seemed pretty conservative to me.

I'm very conservative with my hamburger but liberal with my ketchup. And I rarely eat my Greens.

So I guess too much or too little is mostly a matter of taste.
