Instead of doing all of the work that I need to do yesterday, I spent way too much time on these websites that I just discovered:
Passive-Aggressive Notes -- they're funny because they're true!
The Internet Movie Car Database -- because you absolutely have to know that the car in the background of that scene from
The Aviator was a
1939 Nash Lafayette four-door sedan.
So, anybody have any favorite time-wasting websites that they would like to share with me so that I can pretty much avoid work indefinitely and eventually cost me my job?
@joefromchicago,
I don't have anything to add for you. I am too busy searching that damn Internet Movie Car Database.
Damn you, Joe.
I hesitate to post
this website, because: (1) it's actually useful (I check it occasionally to find out about construction activity in Chicago); and (2) if I do, I'll spend the next hour on stuff like finding out what the
tallest building in Togo looks like.
Stumbleupon.com is a good way to find them and aggregators like reddit and digg can be time sinks of site discovery, But nothing tops wikipedia as a time waster for me. I lose hours at a time there several times a week.
If Charlie Parker Was a Gunslinger, There'd Be a Whole Lot of Dead Copycats
I've posted links to this site before. It has tons of high quality photos in a bunch of quirky categories that are just fascinating. Lots of time to be wasted here.
@panzade,
Indeed. Stop adding to this thread, please.
Found another one:
TV Tropes.
The discussion on
fridge logic is a good place to start.
