I find Gallagher's solo/colloboration stuff better than most of the Oasis tracks. He's definately matured as a writer.
Me, I'm listening to the new Beastie Boys' track 'Ch-Check It Out' and some early Nat King Cole swing-jazz.
I agree with you, unquestionably, Grand Duke; sure, I liked Oasis when they were in their heyday, and I've bought every album; but, every one of their songs were merely laddish, instrumental bursts; now Gallagher is free of the constraint of 'my songs have to be like This,' his writing has moved to more satisfying-- and, often, surprising-- grounds. I wonder what will come next from him?
I'm listening to lots and lots of Beck, one of y favourite artistes of all time... at the moment, the song that's playing is 'Bottle of Blues.'
Dido's new cd and I still can't get enough of OutKast Speakerboxx/The Love Below. Rock on!
