@Region Philbis,
Thanks Reeg.
Someone turned me onto Leon Russell as a rock & roll piano banger in 1964. Amazing!

Pssst! Glen Campbell plinking on the banjo.

My Playlist: Daniel Lanois

Quote:
My Playlist features some of Canada's finest musicians sharing music that's currently shaping their musical worlds. To date the musicians who've walked into the Radio 2 studios, playlists in hand, have given us some great shows. We've had Robbie Robertson's Playlist, Dan Hill's Playlist and Sarah Harmer's Playlist.

This time around it's Daniel Lanois, the superb guitarist, songwriter and internationally renowned producer. (U2, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, the Neville Brothers, Willie Nelson...not to mention he won Producer of the Year for Neil Young's Le Noise at this year's Juno Awards.) It's probably an understatement to say that Lanois is an extraordinary creative force.

fabulous programming

Stomping Tom doing Tillsonburg is on right now.

I'm in music-piggy heaven.

@ehBeth,
Oooh cool. Funny how often this playlists don't reflect the chooser's output isn't it?

We've had a number versions of this idea on Triple J - at one stage it was called Retroperspective, I remember that one of Iggy Pop's favourite songs was Frank Sinatra's 'Very Good Year'. Currently it's called Take Five http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/zan/blog/s3297321.htm and it's usually interesting.

German Prog Rock circa 1970 - first time I've ever heard it. Somewhat epic.
