I'm going to make a bold statement right now and say that this guy, Charlie Rich, was the most talented artist on Sun Records. And you know what? Sam Phillips said the same thing.

Charlie's most famous for the shmaltzy stuff he did in the '70s, which he would later regret. But the stuff he did on Sun is some of my all-time favorite music. Particularly this song:

Charlie Rich--Sittin' and Thinkin'

@Bi-Polar Bear,
It's no good?

Chuck Klosterman gave it an A-, but he's a douchebag: http://www.avclub.com/content/feature/chuck_klosterman_reviews

I'm very, very curious.

@Gargamel,
It doesn't suck...it has it's moments...but a 17 years in the making rock masterpiece? Oh hell no.

@Gargamel,
Charlie was a hellion...but I think Sam Phillips was responsible for not breaking him out...he was nurturing the million dollar quartet ...among others

everything I needed to learn about country piano was on Behind Closed Doors
