Brook Benton singing Rainy Night in Georgia
Brook Benton - Rainy Night in Georgia

This is the quintessential R&B song. Very touching...brings back so many personal memories...not painful ones but powerful and poignant.

I'd give my eye teeth to have this man's singing voice and smooth style. He is no longer with us as he passed on in 1988 (died young at age 56). He's voice and this song are to me the equal of almost any of Ray Charles' best or other classics of this genre.

Then there's "It's Just A Matter Of Time". Not quite the classic as the previous one, but very good.

"Baby, You've Got What it Takes"
Dinah Washington and Brook Benton. Classic R&B Rock & Roll...this was very tasty..listen to it...you'll smile...with those guitar licks.
As a bonus on this YouTube Video there's a Buffalo DJ announcing these top 20 hits. And then what follows is a classic less well-known song from Elvis Presley singing "Kiss Me Quick"

Sometimes I forget just how blessed I really am.

Then something will happen in my life that just sneaks up to remind me.

For someone I used to know. Not my first love....but darn near close to it. Never got to say goodbye to him. He was killed in an accident. T-bone accident. Killed him instantly. Do you ever really let go of someone that you lose that way? No

Trisha Yearwood

I would've loved you anyway
