You should read Bret Easton Ellis' critiques of Huey Lewis And The News in his book American Psycho. He wrote these and those of Whitney Houston and Phil Collins to exemplify Patrick Bateman's extreme shallowness. At first it comes across as satire; someone so shallow would expend all that time ( entire chapters are devoted to his musings on these performers) analysing a commercial pop acts, but the critiques ring true, and one gets the feel for the inspiration Bateman finds in the music.

What he's saying, TTH, is that you have the taste of a serial killer.
