Essence Of Jesus Preaching --- Meaning Of Saving

Saving from the troubles and misery is the general sense of the word saving. In spiritual sense saving means cutting all the worldly bonds and establishing real bond with God, Who alone is the truth. God is truth. This means that God is infinite power. The creation is just His imagination and is almost not true. The imagining person is said to truly exist. The world, which is just His imagination and which is completely not nothing. The world is made of an iota of energy of God. God is like the infinite ocean of energy. Compared to God the world is almost nothing. Thus this entire creation is under the full control of God. Just like the person doing some imagination creates an imaginary world in him, God created this imaginary world in Him. The imagining person can fully control the world. He can transform any item into any other item. He can raise a dead body in His imaginary world. All the miracles of human incarnations can be explained only by this concept.

God who is present in the human incarnation does all these miracles only to establish this concept. If the world is equally true, then the world is equally powerful to God. In such case God cannot do whatever He likes. Since the world is least powerful and God is most powerful, God controls the entire world like a very strong person controlling very weak person. Thus the word truth indicates the omnipotent nature of God. When we say that this world is not true, it indicates the negligible power of the world. Suppose a small ant is on your shirt, will you say that yourself and the ant are present in the house? The ant is negligible and is treated as nothing. Therefore, a person who knows this concept surrenders to God and accepts Him as the saviour. In his eyes the entire world looks like an ant before God. You are a tiny particle in this ant-world. You can understand your position by putting a relative scale.

Assume that this ant is Infinite Ocean of energy. You are an iota of that ocean. This means your power is negligible before the power of this entire nature. The world is like the ocean and you are like a drop in it. God is like the ocean and the world a drop in God. You must understand this simile not in terms of volume but in terms of the intensity of the power. When we utter the word God, we immediately imagine Him as a very large figure with unlimited boundaries. The space is largest but as no power as it is treated has nothing. The atom bomb is very small but it has enormous power. Therefore, our idea about God should not be in terms of the three-dimensional space. When a person imagines a large city, the city is very huge but the person is very small. But that small person has created, maintains and finally dissolves this huge city. He can do anything in this huge city. Infact He is standing outside this huge city. When He wants to enter into this huge imaginary city, He will imagine a small form and He identifies Himself with that form. That small form represents the outside person. This imagined form, which is identified by the outside person, is treated as the outside person directly. This imagined small form is the human incarnation. The outside person is God. The imaginary huge city is this world.

Thus God identifies Himself with the human incarnation. From this angle the human incarnation and the God are one and the same. There is another angle in which the human incarnation is not the original God but a part and parcel of God. In this angle God and the human incarnation are treated as father and son. You can experience the Father only through this Son. In the third angle the human incarnation is just sent by God into this world as a messenger with some power. Jesus talked this truth in all the three angles. Jesus can save any human being who has any one of these three angles. Acceptance of Jesus as your saviour is the essential step in the spiritual effort. Here Jesus means the human incarnation in general. Only God is the saviour. But you cannot approach God directly. Only through the human incarnation you can approach God. This means you should accept the human incarnation as that very God. In such case only the human incarnation becomes your saviour.

God is like free electrons flowing in the atmosphere. These Electrons are the electricity. Then can you heat water by keeping the vessel containing water in the atmosphere? When these Electrons enter a medium like the metallic wire, you can heat water. If the medium is human form it is most convenient for you to clear your doubts, to love and to serve Him. Therefore, acceptance of Jesus as your Saviour means that you should accept the human incarnation as your saviour. It is told that Jesus will come again. This means that the human incarnation is coming in every human generation.

Otherwise, if one generation was only blessed by such fortune, the other generations will charge God as partial and such charge is justified. Therefore, if you think that Jesus means only that particular human incarnation, which came about 2000 years back, you have lost the whole concept. Through a particular example generalization must be made. If you say that sodium atom is indivisible it means the atom of any element is indivisible. If you say that Daniel is born, it means that every human being will be born. If this basic analysis is lost, the entire spiritual castle falls down due to the absence of its foundation.

@dattaswami cv,
Before going further I want to talk discuss the first paragraph.
Quote:
Saving from the troubles and misery is the general sense of the word saving.

If that is a goal of God, than God is not doing a very good job. There is more troubles and misery than ever before. This world and all its sufferings will either turn a person to God in humbleness or turn him away from God in pride.

I also would disagree, if that would be God's intent that what's the purpose of a person staying in the world, why God doesn't take the person to heaven after his cutting of all the worldly bonds.

God is bigger than that, he wants us to be His representatives on earth. We are still part of the world but we are not of this world.

Love for God is called devotion (Bhakti). Love for worldly things is called love (Prema). The basic meaning is same for both love and devotion. There are three strongest worldly chains.

1) Love between husband and wife.

2) Love for children.

3) Love for money.

These three bonds are called ?Eshanas?. Jesus competes with these three bonds in His tests. One cannot reach even the outer gate of Lord Jesus if one fails in these three tests.

Purity means oneness. Pure gold means the single gold metal without the second metal like copper. When a single bond exists without a second bond, such single bond is called as pure love or devotion and this is the highest stage. In the lower stage, even if several bonds exist, one bond only becomes the top most, before which the other bonds get rejected in case of competition. In the childhood the paternal bond is top most. In youth the bond with beloved or wife is top most. Afterwards the bond with children becomes top most, which continues through out the life. The rejection of other bonds before the top most bond is the meaning of the word ?hate? used by Jesus while stating that one cannot become His dearest disciple unless one hates the worldly bonds.

The bond with inert money is only to see the happiness in parents, wife and children (life). The bond with one?s own life happens to be the top most bond from birth to death and before this bond the other bonds may be rejected or this bond may be rejected before the other bonds. It varies from one individual to the other. The bond with God is also like the bond with money. People love God and money for the sake of happiness of self (life), parents, wife and children only. Money and God are only the instruments to achieve happiness for the sake of self, parents, wife and children. If these bonds are absent, the bond with God and money disappears. This is the case of Pravrutti (Obeying justice), which is the general trend of most of the devotees. Only few exceptional cases exist among the devotees for whom God becomes the top most. Such exceptional devotees come under Nivrutti (loving practical service to God without any expectation) and God loves such exceptional devotees only.

The transformation of Pravrutti to Nivrutti is the real spiritual path. Jesus referred to such devotees of Nivrutti only in His statement as said above. The divine cinema aims to achieve such Nivrutti only. But people take God as an instrument to achieve protection and happiness of worldly bonds including self. Jesus says in the above statement that His dearest disciple must be prepared to carry on his own cross for the sake of God. This means that one has to sacrifice even the bond with life for the sake of God. In fact, Jesus sacrificed the bond with His life for the sake of God?s mission through crucifixion.

Jesus brought a new life in terms of relationship with God, he solved the disconnect from God. You suggesting that we can achieve the perfection in our own body by perfecting it. Unfortunately we are so rotten that by our works or intents we will never will be accepted by God except by Christ death and resurrection, and that was the purpose, mission and the work of Christ.

What ever you mentioned about Jesus is correct. When Lord came as Jesus, He given emphais on Justice, and the behaviour one should show towards others for maintaing justice in the society. Thus He preached about Justice (Pravrutti) to masses, who came to Him mainly for selfish desires like getting cure and seeing miracles. To such low level devotees who come to God for using Him for their personal purposes; Jesus taught in Parables so that only interested people would stay back and really ask the meaning behind them.

But Lord Jesus explained everything clear to His dearest devotees, because those disciples left everything for His sake and for the propagation of knowledge preached by God, such people are in the path of loving service to God in human form known as Nivrutti or Path of Liberation. For such people He told,

Luke?14:26 to 27

?If any one comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple??.

See the impartial attitude of Lord Jesus to cut the blind bond with the worldly things for acheiving salvation! Jesus never told this to all those ordinary people. He strictly told only to His disciples. If the same thing is told to you also may be you cannot digest this (you may be a great devotee also).

Thus Lord preaches according to the level and deservigness of devotees. For low level devotees He preaches loving ememies etc. For High level devotees He preached about the loving service to Lord by leaving everything and every body; such path is full of misery only; only such high devotees could practise that. Not all!! Think about this!!!

Jesus response was to all people, all believers. We can see it in other verses. When he cried about Jerusalem, He said that He came for them to gather them and bring peace but they didn't accepted Him. It was an universal plan of salvation.God's idea of salvation is for the all.
The criteria to follow Jesus is the same for all as well. The verse in Luke "take you cross and follow me" is speaking of the individual cross, the purpose and mission prepared by God for your and my lives. But the concept of 2 commandments of loving your God and your neighbor, setting priorities in life are the same for you and me.
This was conformed later by other writers of the New Testament Peter, John, Paul. Paul in the book of Romans and Ephesians states that all believers have been adopted to the family of God. And he writes to the Church of Ephesus referring to the as "you" as group of believers.
Sorry no preferential treatment. Wink

The Lord is trying to uplift the spoiled people in their own inevitable way. If you are not spoiled, you have your own path of purity and you need not come to the path of the spoiled people. When you insist that the spoiled people should rectify themselves and should come through your path only, some of them may succeed. But a large majority is unable to change their bad qualities and such people are dejected forever due to their inability. Such people resort to the path of sin only further and further since the divine path of good people is closed to them forever.

For such people, there should be a path to God. The path is to divert their sinful nature towards God instead of applying it towards the world (Tepi Yanti? Gita). If you are with mud on the body and if you are unable to wash it by any amount of effort, you have a path by which you can also reach God with the same mud. This gives hope to such dejected people also. When they turn towards God, atleast the society is saved from their worldly involvement. If you realize that the entire responsibility of sin is only on the mind, there will be hardly any person left over in this world, who is not a sinner. When Jesus asked the people to punish the prostitute in case they have not committed any sin, all went back because if anybody comes forward with hypocrisy, Jesus will reveal the sins of such person.

You can fool another human being by your hypocrisy but not God. Any amount of effort cannot eradicate the sinful nature but can control it. Therefore, the effort is certainly appreciable but nobody can claim that the nature is completely destroyed. Even the unimaginable torture cannot do it and the soul returns to the earth with reduced nature (Karma Shesha) only. In the spiritual path, fooling others has no use because it becomes fooling yourself. Therefore, you should not criticize the sin of any other soul since any soul is in such state of inevitable sin only atleast in the mental plane. Only the sinless God can criticize any soul. But God comes down to uplift the souls from the sins. First He advised to get rid of sins and reach Him. A few could succeed and when they became proud, God showed the inherent sin hiding in them! Every soul is made of the three qualities (Good Sattvam and bad Rajas and Tamas). Good quality may predominate and the bad qualities may exist as invisible traces of impurities.

Any single quality of these three cannot exist in isolated way. When the human being boasts that he is completely good, the boasting itself is a bad quality (Rajas)! In someother time, Rajas and Tamas predominate even in the case of top most devotees. Therefore, diverting the bad quality also towards God is the best practical path and is the really expected way also. Any quality diverted to God is good and any quality diverted to worldly bonds with selfishness is bad. Gopikas were sages in the previous births and wrote all the ethical scriptures for the society. But when they entered the field of God, they have realized the real aim of ethics. Then, they thought that all those ethical scriptures written by them were useless because the real aims of bad and good were not realized in such scriptures.

Now they have defined good and bad in a single statement like this: Whatever pleases God is good and whatever God dislikes is bad (Hareh Kopakaram Papam, Punyam tasya Priyapradam). This truth was also acknowledged by God in Gita (Sarva Dharman?). All the three qualities are created by God only to help the spiritual effort of the soul (Yechaiva... Gita) and are good if they are diverted towards God. When they are diverted to the world, the purpose of their creation is lost and they become bad. To divert them to God, God comes down in human form possessing the bad qualities also and shows such diversion practically. The soul is constituted by the three qualities; where as the medium (human form) of God is constituted by the three qualities and not God. You are a cloud and God is the Sun existing in another cloud. The cloud is criticizing the sun for the black colour of the cloud!

God is unimaginable and no quality can be His characteristic (Nachaham?, Natvamteshu? Gita). He has chosen such similar medium so that He can become close to us by mixing with us freely. For the demonstration of the diversion of all the three qualities to God, He also requires those three qualities associated with Him. From such demonstration, you should learn the concept but not criticize God foolishly with hypocrisy. The original pure path is best and if you are in the best path, proceed in it. The next middle path is better, which is control of the sins. The third path is to divert the inevitable bad qualities to God by detaching the self from the worldly bonds completely. All the three paths lead the self to God.

If you are in the best path, you can expect the soul in the middle path to come to you, but you cannot imagine the third path to come and merge with your path under any circumstances. What is the fate of those people who are in the third path? Should they be condemned forever? No no. If their goal is God, they can reach the goal in their own path. The difference is only in the path but not in the goal. Whether the river takes straight path or curved path, it reaches the sea (Payasamarnava Iva? Mahimnah Stotram). You have gone to the city in a car. I have also come to the same city by a donkey. Both of us have reached the same city. You might have reached the city early, but you should not say that I will never reach the city. The only reason is that the same city is the goal for both of us. Even if you have car, if you are traveling in the opposite direction, you will never reach the city, where as I am certain to reach the goal by donkey.

Similarly, if your goal is God, you can reach Him by any quality you have. Gopikas got the highest fruit by the worst path of Tamas. ?How this is possible?? Parikshit asked (Tasam Mohadhyam Katham?... Bhagavatam). If the goal is correct, even My donkey will take Me to the city and I need not waste all My time to procure a car which is impossible for My capacity. Instead of wasting My life time to change the donkey and get the car, let Me travel towards the city on My donkey itself and spend the time properly without wastage. Infact, the soul itself is a donkey even if it sits in the car. Such donkey in the car is mocking another donkey, which is walking towards the same city! Here the greatest fun is that when a person is traveling by the donkey, the donkey in the car is mocking at the person.

Similarly, God comes with Rajas and Tamas to show that they can also lead you to God. The soul is made of Rajas and Tamas inherently and is traveling by Sattvam (car). Now the soul is mocking the God, who came with Rajas and Tamas for demonstration! The three qualities indicate the variety only and no quality is good or bad originally. Any quality becomes good or bad by its direction to God or world. Mango and banana are just different fruits (variety) and no fruit is good or bad. Any of these two fruits given to a demon becomes bad and given to God becomes good.
