I've noticed some confusion between the terms proof and evidence from some of the posts i've seen on here so i'ved decided to clear some things up.
the word Proof is NOT interchangeable with the word evidence, they are two very different things.

C.That which confirms

proof(prūf)
n.
A. The evidence or argument that compels the mind to accept an assertion as true.
B. The validation of a proposition by application of specified rules, as of induction or deduction, to assumptions, axioms, and sequentially derived conclusions.
C.A statement or argument used in such a validation.
D.The state of being convinced or persuaded by consideration of evidence.
