Here a just a few things that I have noticed in the bible that make me wonder:
God is unhappy with the wickedness of man and decides to do something about it. He kills every living thing on the face of the earth other than Noah's family and thereby makes himself the greatest mass murderer in history
Even though he has acknowledged God?s superiority, God hardens Pharaoh?s heart, thus giving God an excuse to visit all the plagues upon Egypt.
God killed all the first-born of Egypt from the lowest creature to the son of Pharaoh..this would be similar to the flood, only on a smaller scale.
God approves of slavery (yes, their slavery was the same as practiced in more recent times) and gives rules on treatment of slaves, even allowing a master to beat a slave to death.
Cripples and men without testicles or deformed testicles are not allowed to approach the altar. God is prejudiced against the crippled and genetically deformed.
God accepts human sacrifice (Judges 30-39)
God advocates killing Sabbath breakers.
God approves genocide and theft of the victims lands
God told the Israelites to kill all the Midianites with the exception of the female virgins ? these he gave to the warriors as their sex toys. God did save out 32 of the virgins for himself?they were tribute and tribute was normally sacrificed and burnt?is this what happened to them?
God advocates the total destruction/genocide of all people he gives to the Israelites to defeat.
God gives man dominion over woman
God punishes the children for the sins of their ancestors
God allows a father to sell his daughter into slavery.
Jesus came to bring strife, not peace, to turn brother against brother, father against son, and son against father.
Jesus instructed his followers to sell their coats and buy swords.
Jesus says that anger is a sin, yet he is angry several times in the Gospels.
Jesus advocates self-mutilation.
Jesus advocates castration for men.
Jesus advocates abandoning your family for special heavenly rewards
Jesus advocates hating your family for his sake
Jesus says to be subject to every human institution. All authorities (laws and governments) are from God. (Note: This would include those of a Nazi Germany)
If any other religion taught such atrocities, the three bloody children of Abraham would scream about that religion being the work of Satan. Now I ask you, could the Abrahamic religions be the actual work of the Evil One?It sure seems so!:patriot:
