Are believers culpable for overpopulation?

This question was born from my hearing the story of a man with 17 children of whom 6 were not as normal, so to speak, as the rest. No twins. This family is poor and arguably has no quality of life.

Most Gods favor a reproducing group of adherents.
Without adherents, there relevance would be lost to history.

From Adam on down, we have not let God down, we have reproduced.

Be they Eastern or Western religions, are religions and believers responsible for our dismal control of reproduction?

Are believers culpable for our overpopulation?

@Greatest I am cv,
The answer is in history itself.

Religious wars tend to kill off great segments of the population.

It cycles back and forth as to who's winning, but the overall effect is the same. Just as in the wild kingdom, where animals cull their own kind when resources get scarce, humans do likewise.

But we often do it for power alone.

The culling effects of wars have not been keeping up with population growth.

@Greatest I am cv,
In your lifetime perhaps.

Like a fault that hasn't produced an earthquake for along time, hatred builds up in a likewise manner. It's a worldwide thing.

The last world war ended in 1945. The accumulation of hatred is very, very ripe for another mega-quake. Technology makes killing a million people a one button operation.

Many buttons will be pushed before it's over.

So much for your faith in man.
Your glass is half empty.

@Greatest I am cv,
My faith in mankind is a matter of history. They say it repeats. I agree.

This is your world.

For me, there is no glass. Either full or empty. As both imply duality.

I'm advaita.

Mostly insecure fools.
Many have good hearts though. They are just misguided.
