Dag, Clary

There are ayurvedic massages and yoga centers/classes/parlors..Brahmin's already provided you with some lists. I'll try and get some personal recommendations from people who have tried it out...

Ok. Here are the recommendations - Dr Omkar is supposed to be one of the best Yoga teachers in Bangalore. He is a scientist in the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and is a disciple of the famous Dr. Iyengar. You can contact him at the Yoga Mandir, +91 80 26713478.

They have classes on both weekdays and weekends - you can choose whatever suits you. Not very expensive.

Another famous guy is Dr. Jois in Mysore (another city - 150 kms from Bangalore).

Centers such as these teach Yoga (mind and body exercises to put it very simplistically) usually do not give any massages - Ayurvedic centers do. Of course, there are centers that combine the two - they teach Yoga and give ayurvedic massages too. Also, all Taj hotels (and the like) arange for good ayurvedic massages at an additional cost.

http://www.nivalink.com/soukya/index.html - supposed to be THE place for ayurvedic massages and therapy.

Hope this helps Smile

Dag was talking about a Yoga massage. There is a spa called "Angsana", which specializes in these massages. There's also something called the Thai Yoga massage. Yoga massage, Power yoga are all new buzzwords - "Not the real thing", say my "all-knowing" colleagues. I'm sure the "Soukya" resort also offers Yoga massages along with their ayurvedic packages.

There's so much to know about my own country..I seem to know so little...

In case you want me to call/contact any of these spas or whatever in banglore, let me know.
