the death penalty

there are more people on death row in Pakistan that most other countries. but the difference in human rights in this Islamic country is that the crimes are smuggling, drug trafficking and other crimes that the US would consider only felonies.
in a culture that so easily kills humans you can see what a danger this is to the US.
here's another example:
IRAN: PORNOGRAPHY PRODUCERS TO GET DEATH PENALTY UNDER NEW LAW
Tehran, 30 April (AKI) - The culture committee of the Iranian parliament approved on Monday a bill sentencing to death producers of 'pornography', videos and films deemed vulgar by the country's censorship. The draft law will now go to parliament where it is expected to be approved by an ample majority. Amateur porn films have a properous market in Iran and can fetch up to 30 euros each.

The market, tolerated for a long time, became a nationwide issue earlier this year after a porn film of popular television actress, Zohre Mir Ebrahimi, having sex with her partner, was released.

@sectionOne,
I don't think you understand. this law would make the editors of Playboy magazine, even Maxim magazine, legally put to death.
this would make Jerry Springer a criminal and hung or shot by a firing squad.
pornography in Islamic countries is any skin showing on a woman who is expected to be fully covered in public.
actresses like Sharon Stone are considered pornographic for bearing a breast in film. death.
cartoonist who draw huge boobs on Tomb Raider is a pornographic artist.

@sectionOne,
There are two problems with the death penalty in America, it takes to long to carry out and not enough people are given it. IMHO we should execute

Murderers
2nd conviction sex offenders (rape, child rape, etc)
3rd conviction violent offenders (3 felony convictions)

Hefner would be safe, but the general idea is that if you don't want to be a member of our society, we don't want you to be a member either.

And forget lethal injection, I'm sick of people gruesomely killing others and then we have to be considerate of their feelings. Those condemned to die deserve a death no more painful then they inflicted on their victims. Forget expensive medical procedures or high voltage

rope is $1.50 a ft
and you can reuse the tree

done and done [/rant]

Ever think that this attitude is the reason why the US tops the charts with rape? People in this country are so repressed with the human body and their own sexuality that it has become a breeding ground for sexual crime, and high teenage pregnancy. Funny thing is people like you blame pornography when in fact, countries where porn is accepted have MUCH lower rates of sexual crime.

Yeah, but this could lead to big complications of an undesirable sort because a toddler who does something completely innocent is sometimes made out to be a 'sex offender' by the less intelligent people in the judicial system.

Or even more complicated when an 18 year old, and a 16 or 17 year old have informed consenual sex, yet it is considered in some states to be statutory rape.

@sectionOne,
We need to have some common sense laws and not blind justice all the time, cause there will always be stuff like that, Of course, this could lead to open interpretation by judges to fit their views.

I think that house arrest should be optional and left up to the parent/guardian of the minor in such a case as above, as well as optional restraining order. It may warrant sex offender status, but I'd say not usually.

@sectionOne,
Yeah, but that would be too controversial. You can't really introduce something like that into the legal system without a huge mess.
