Poll: Miracle School Bus?

FOXNews.com - 50 Kids' Lives Spared on 'Miracle' School Bus During Bridge Collapse - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

so was it a miracle, or just a lucky break?

looking at it purely from physics the school bus has a height weight/volume ratio which would cause it to fall faster then passenger cars around it. Also it's very well weight balanced which would keep it from tipping in short falls.

See the 18 wheeler with trailer next to it? It took a noise dive because all the weight was up front

but what do you think?

@Silverchild79,
The bus probably didn't tip further over the edge because it was wedged against the gaurd rail ( described in the story) and was positioned behind the obvious break in the pavement. The tractor was just over the break and tipped, but the trailer was not. IF the tractor-trailer rig was carrying a load, it should have had equal weight over each axle.
They would both FALL at the same rate in this instance because they were falling with the roadway, not freefalling down to the water.
Lucky happenstance that the kids were not injured, of course, but a miracle? Not IMHO.

@Silverchild79,
I voted Miracle. How else can it be defined. Miracle IMO does not mean Divine INtervention.
