Religious Sympathy for Nazis(and the Holocaust)

Many people think that Pope Pius XII was irresponsible and even guilty in the Holocaust. I recently read a book, The Myth of Hitler's Pope, which actually debunks this and shows that he helped Jews. Even more surprising, it says his secular-progressive liberal critics are also ignoring the fact that Muslim leaders of the time were the religious anti-Semetic group, which continues today. So, I found two sites on a similar topic you may want to check out if your interested in the topic.

The Muslim/Nazi Connection

A Righteous Gentile

The second one's an article by the author of the book, which I recommend if you're interested.

Anyway, I think the first site is worth talking about. What do you think about the Muslim-Nazi connection?

@Reagaknight,
The connection is clear and has been known for many years . Similarities among the different Arab and Muslim groups echo the tenets of Hitler even today .

@Reagaknight,
The Pope didn't support Hitler. Moreover, even if he didn't fight the maniac as tenaciously as he could have in the beginning, the U.S. was a little confused about Hitler, as well. "Time" designated HITLER its "Man of the Year" in 1938, the same year he kicked his industrial death-camp complex into gear. Few are innocent.

@Reagaknight,
Roughly half of Nazi Germany was Catholic. The other half was Protestant. Whom should we blame for the Protestants' collaboration with Hitler -- Martin Luther? He hated Jews, too.:no: :dunno:

@Reagaknight,
Good point Pino, I think alot of America's opinion of Hitler was scued because Hitler let it be known that America was a model he was in favor of. IMO alot of peopple had a wait and see attitude, then japan decided it for us. I think that is also why we never officially declared war on Germany?

Well, you have to take into account that that award is rewarded to influential people, regardless of personal beliefs.

Anyway, most incidents of the Holocaust (except for obvious ones like Kristallancht) were not widely known to non-Germans/ German occupied countries.

Do you think Time would dare declare Osama Bin Laden 'Man of the Year'? If not, how is the Holocaust less eggregious than 911?:dance2:

Osama Bin Laden doesn't control a major country that can greatly affect the world. There are much better candidates, but even if there weren't, they wouldn't declare him man of the year, because everyone knows what he's done, not like with Hitler.
