The year is just about over, and I thought this might be a good way to discover new music. I'll go first.

1. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post-Pavillion

While, of course, everything is subjective, anybody who doesn't like this album knows nothing about music.

2. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

Not to everybody's taste, pretty experimental and out there, but still manages to be quite catchy.

3. Girls - Album

Hipster Pop

4. Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs - It's Blitz!

Karen O has a sexy voice.

5. The XX - The XX

Charmingly minimalist.

La Roux, Grizzly Bear and Passion Pit all had good albums out too.

@sometime sun,
Wasn't Merriweather Post Pavilion just an EP?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm stupid.

@mickalos,
My favorite albums from 2009:

"EndGame" Megadeth
"It's All Happening" iwrestledabearonce
"Ruination" Job for a Cowboy
"The Great Stone War" Winds of Plague

I think those are the ones that I really enjoyed, I know I'm forgetting some.
