Name this song - about botanical gardens

My sister has been trying to identify this song for about 20 years.
She guessed it was by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, but the Ozarks fansite drew a blank on it.
I haven't heard the song myself, but guess it would be early 80s at the latest, or more likely from the 70s.
Here are the lyrics she remembers.

The word "gardens" is pronounced "ga-ha-dens".

Extensive searches on Google using individual lines have turned up nothing.
