The strokes: Room on fire

Well, i went out and bought this cd from the so called "saviours of pop music"(Nardwaur) today expecting I'd find an almost replica of their last cd, is this it?. While the strokes stylre remains the same, the music has evolved. This cd is not as catchy, and definitely not as radio friendly. In fact, 12:51, the first single, is probably the only protoypical single on the record. This cd takes the simple, poppy riffs, and subtle melodies and amplifies them 10 fold...its almost over indulgent. However, songs like "you talk way to much" and "Between love and Hate" definitely make the cd worthwhile. I'd say pick it up, or give it a listen
go indie
