On our TV last night there was a programme of the 37th Annual Country Music Association Awards.
The programme was very entertaining and the standard of the musical offerings was very high, particularly as the artists played live.
A high spot for me was a duet between Dolly Parton and Norah Jones, very skilfully and sensitively sung.
Another song I liked was "I Love This Bar", male vocalist of course. Can anyone post the words to this song?
You can tell I'm not an insider but- anyone else like this kind of stuff?
I love country music and I did see the 37th Country music awards. "I love this bar" is sung by Toby Keith and I'll go see if I can find the words for you.

It was good, wasn't it? I wish I'd video recorded the whole programme now. I'll go out this week and see if I can get that record.
Guitar chords too. Wow. Maybe I could make the price of the record playing on Market Street
You're welcome. I watch the country music awards every year and the only one I didn't like was last year and it was because Reba Mcentire who hosted the show did nothing but ditch the Dixie Chicks through the whole program. I thought that was terrible and I instantly lost all respect for the woman. This year the show was fantastic and I enjoyed it emensly :-D "I love this bar" has also become one of my favorite songs.
Hi, I didn't watch the show, had to go out, but I saw a small part (silently) right after Martina McBride sang, everyone in the audience that the camera panned by was mouthing "oh my god". I'm assuming she was amazing, but what song did she blow the crowd away with?

Wasn't that the one which starts with a line something like
"To my daughter, I'm a hero"?
In My Daughter's Eyes Lyrics
Artist(Band):Martina McBride
In my daughter's eye's
I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
When she wraps her hand around my finger
Oh, it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what love is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes
I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you'll see
How happy she made me
For I'll be there...
In my daughter's eyes
Thank you, now I'll go and see if I can listen to the song.
