Lowrance sonar Ethernet testing

I have connected the head of a Lowrance X510c using Ethernet cable to an existing X510c with transducer. I want to eliminate having more than one transducer on back of boat. Turning on both units, both units are reading different depths. How can I test the units to see if they are recognizing one another.
