@Ragman,

we'll see what the team is really made of tomorrow when those damn yankees come to town.

looks like we will be without our starting shortstop for a while...

Bogaerts has a "non-displaced ankle fracture" that won’t require surgery.

he is only expected to miss 10-to-14 days...

@Region Philbis,
Unless there's a sudden change in how they're playing, The Yanks won't be an issue this season. I've been horrified...even mortified by their lackluster performance this far.

@Sturgis,

still trying to figure out why they chose Boone over someone with even a little managerial experience...

What happens when the Angels fall in 3 straight?

They follow in Cleveland's footsteps and get a new team logo:

@Region Philbis,
Betts is an exciting player who could be a genuine superstar. I'd like to see him on a long contract soon! -- and never get to free agency!

@jjorge,

i guess it all boils down to who his agent is... if it's Bora$$, all Betts are off...

@Ragman,
...I was born in Boston, Ragman, and was a young Little Leaguer growing up just south of Beantown when Ted Williams, the Sox greatest star, was newly returning from his service as a fighter-pilot in Korea.
I've had many conversations about Ted's loss of FIVE YEARS OUT OF HIS PRIME serving first in WW II and later Korea, and wondering what his record /stats would be if he hadn't.
Ted Williams, Dom DiMaggio, Johnny Pesky, Bobby Doerr, Billy Goodman, Mel Parnell, Jim Rice, Fred Lynn, Yaz, --these have been some of my baseball heroes and more recently Pedro, big Papi, Pedroia et al....
and, the The CURRENT crop, could prove to be one of their greatest teams! What's not to love about Mookie Betts?!!

@jjorge,
Having seen you on the forum quite a bit, at one time I knew this but due to spotty memory I had forgotten your Boston history. We share this Boston Commonality.

Being no spring chicken I also go back some years in RS history - just not quite as long. I tuned in just as The Splendid Splinter was winding his career down and Yaz was starting up. My senior HS year was the Impossible Dream year (‘67) and I couldn’t have enjoyed it more. I even got to see a WS game.

This team is showing some real promise of big things to come. Mookie is having quite a year, isn’t he?! I just wish their relieving corp would be more consistent. Unlike last year, this team shows they’ve got fire 🔥 in their bellies. Mgr Cora sure shows he’s prepared to steer this 🚢 ship through thick and thin.

Betts is off to an incredible start --

with only 28% games played, it's doubtful he can maintain this pace, but when
you extrapolate over a 162 game season, he would break all sorts of records...

Well it had been about a month since the Yankees lost 2 straight.

It happened today, and the red Sox can tie the division (more or less) with a win tonight.
