@George,
Could I borrow this from you? I'm going to CA next week and we have tickets to the Angels/Sox game. I may need it.

It is definitely getting roomy up here on the bandwagon. :-/

Meanwhile I am headed to Salem VA in a few minutes to watch the Boston's
'High A' affiliate, Salem Red Sox. They'll be playing the Lynchburg Hillcats who are now an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

@panzade,
Ahh. That's the place from whence the cruise boats leave. You're on the 'other side' of FL. Waving from west coast of FL.

You've got some ideal weather there today...low 80s and mostly sunny and not sticky at all. Careful of the possibility of some local traffic due to water-main repairs in downtown area on Rt 1.

@panzade,
Port St Lucie Mets' starting pitcher tonight is Scott Moviel. According to the roster info he's 6ft 11 in., 235 lbs. Yikes!

speaking of price$...
Quote:
The Boston Red Sox have agreed to terms with first baseman Adrian Gonzalez on a seven-year contract worth $154 million,
multiple media outlets, including ESPN, are reporting.

The deal is expected to be announced Friday afternoon.

Gonzalez receives a $6 million signing bonus, $21 million per year from 2012-16 and $21.5 million per year in 2017 and 2018,
sources with knowledge of the deal told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney. Sources also said the deal has a partial no-trade clause.

@Region Philbis,
I wonder if Becket has some stem cells to donate to the other starting pitchers. Anything just might help. Confused

@tsarstepan,
This thread is making me want to follow the Red Sox (as well as the Giants). I may latch on to it to make up for not participating in the fantasy game.
First of all, I detect a high level of sense of humor among the thread weavers.

@ossobuco,

Welcome aboard Osso.

Growing up a citizen of the Red Sox nation, one must develop a self-deprecating sense of humor or else grow a black bile filled tumor of frustration and regret. Oh wait, I guess its really not an either/or option. Both aren't mutually exclusive to a Red Sox fan... http://i48.tinypic.com/15coord.jpg

Still interested to jump on our ship of fools Ossobuco?

@jespah,
I've got creds, my mother was born in Watertown and grandmother was from Southie. Well, nuts, those aren't my creds but theirs. Still, I like chowdah.

And my uncles spoke like that.

@tsarstepan,
Ok, I favorited that. Do I qualify?

So which of you are vying in fantasy baseball? Does Jespah have puppies this year? Is George going to win or not? Is Tsar reigning?

@ossobuco,
I do indeed have skinny pups this year. Rhys is my current opponent - he's currently beating me 10 - 7 and is in 8th place overall; I'm in 7th overall. fbaezer is creaming all of us. Currently, the difference between 2nd and 6th is 3 games. 7th and 9th are a difference of 1.5 games. RJB is currently in the cellar.
