Makes sense. After all, 'Net use is rising and, as we all know, the 'Net is unfortunately becoming a great place to copy homework answers. So there's a compelling interest for students to learn to use the Internet and make sure they have access. It may not have been what was originally intended, but there it is -- the Internet's being used and not in the purely scientific manner which is how it was originally envisioned.

I'm curious if there are any increases in literacy or more expertise in literacy, among students, since the advent of the Internet. After all, you can't really use a PC unless you have some rudimentary knowledge of reading and writing. So there's a compelling interest there, too. Is that showing up in test scores? I wonder.
